Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) presentations are very special
 and recognize sustained excellent work by the recipient.
 Tonight Rotaract in WA District Rotaract Representative
 Samantha Fewster was named as PHF
 jointly by District Governors Bruce Lynch and Lindsay Dry
, in recognition of her untiring efforts
 on behalf of the two districts.

 volunteer for work with homeless

 awards Reg Lambert with the Paul Harris Fellow Award.



VOLUNTEER Reg Lambert (93) was honoured
 by the Rotary Club of Mandurah last night.
Mr Lambert received the Paul Harris Fellow Award
 in recognition of his work for the homeless.

Mr Lambert’s charity work includes setting up a group Focus
 to assist those less fortunate,
 fostering children and helping the homeless.
“We spent four years on the streets
 so we could understand them,” he said.
“I had to help people.

“Homeless people are not hopeless.

 President of the Lions Club of Bassendean.
 Originally founded in 1991,
 the Club in recent times are big supporters of the Bassendean Men’s Shed.
 Daniel spoke about the ways he plans to build memberships for his club
. At the end on behalf of our club Past President Ken Duffy
 exchanged banners with Daniel.

A double whammy for RC Perth...
.our Eye Contact project with Rotary Club of Heirisson 
will be on display at the Wagin Woolorama
 sharing the message in regional WA of homelessness 
and what communities are doing to address this.

This display was organised by 
Stitches of Hopewhich 
RC Perth and Swan Districts Rotary
 are partnered to “sell” 500 sleeping bags for the homeless in Perth
 and surrounding communities.
 All funds raised at the Wooloorama 
will be given to the sleeping bag project.

A massive thank you to Eric Turner and his wife Renata 
whose continued management of the Rotary Boat Raffle
 (which began in 1987) has raised over $200,000 
for Rotary and associated projects!
 These funds have been distributed to many projects
 and community groups over the years.
 With continued support we should see a great result in 2018.

Our guest speaker  was Jane. 
The Club proudly supported Jane to attend RYLA earlier this year.
 It was wonderful to hear the value of her adventure.

Over six days and five nights Jane was immersed in a program
 centred around resilience, team work and the value of time.
 All things designed to develop her leadership skills.
 She gained a great deal from RYLA including confidence, like-minded friends,
 vision, exposure, experience and courage.

The Rotary 4-way Speech Contest is here in full force.
 We are so proud of Cidele Mezger and Anna Nguyen from Geraldton 
who are our budding champions.
 Cidele was at last week's meeting and delivered her stunning speech,
 she just gets better and better
. Cidele has been supported by RCOG's Robert Mosel all along,
 and last week Geraldton Grammar School's Deputy Head Mr Derek Lange
 and Head of Middle School Ms Anne Faichney
 attended the meeting with her.

 and whatever the outcomes

On Wednesday 28 February, club members heard their candidate
 Winnie Taylor-Williams from St Mary's Anglican School 
deliver her speech at the 4-Way Test Speech Competition.
 Her extremely fluent and confident delivery earned her second place.
 She will now compete in the District final on 12 March.
 Well done Winnie and good luck for the final
. The club is very proud of you.

Last Sunday we took advantage of the beautiful summer weather
 to have a small working bee at the Rotary Youth Camp. 
This camp is in a beautiful area on the shores of Princess Royal Harbour
 and near Torndirrup National Park
 and is available for school and youth groups to hire.

Rotary Club of Mill Point

A team of 8 Mill Point Rotarian escorted the Queens Baton relay 
on Saturday 24 February along South Perth foreshore. 
The Rotarians helped clear the path for the baton relay runners
 and handed out flags to the young and old that lined the road
 from The Old Mill to the Rotary Flag Pole.
